Very rare Selaginella from Thailand. Strong iridescence and unusual growth, grows in height to around 25cm. At the ends, the stems branch. The leaves are very iridescent from blue to purple , they are shade and humidity loving plants, preferring cool environments protected from direct sunlight.

Another characteristic of Selaginella siamensis is its seasonal life cycle. In its natural habitat there is a rainy season and a dry season.

At the end of the rainy season (almost) all aboveground stems die and it survives the dry season as an underground rhizome. At the beginning of the next rainy season, new stems will regrow.
